Goteborg, Sweden – 23 April 2007
VisitSweden (former Swedish Travel & Tourism Council) has signed an agreement with Visit Technology Group to power up Sweden’s official website for tourism and travel information with online travel offers from Sweden’s leading tourist destinations. This latest contract continues to reinforce Visit Technology Group’s reputation as a leading supplier of Internet based destination management systems to city, regional and national destination management organisations in Europe.
The online travel technology specialist Visit Technology Group was entrusted with the task to power the new Swedish booking portal www.visitsweden.com. Visit Technology Group will now set about developing the national tourism platform in cooperation with Cloud Nine (www.cloudnine.se) on behalf of the Swedish Government and the Swedish Tourist Industry. All offers will be bookable online in 17 languages – Russian, Japanese and Chinese among them. The launch of the portal is scheduled by the end of the year.
"One of the reasons Visit Sweden selected Citybreak is the fact that we have been running the Citybreak system since 2000, and through this we have been effectively supporting the leading brands in the Swedish tourism industry. For example; Stockholm, Goteborg and Malmoe and destinations such as the region of West Sweden, Islands of Gotland and Oland and many more”
says Joakim Stjernstrom, Sales Director of Visit Technology Group.
“It is a great challenge and opportunity for Visit Technology Group to be a key player in the development of the new national Swedish tourism portal. We are very excited to be working with Sweden’s official tourist organisation and looking forward to future success with our DMS solution on the international market”
says Magnus Emilson, CEO, Visit Technology Group AB.
